First dry your hair naturally. For curly prom updos, you need to curl your hair. After curling your hair, style your front hair. You can try to make a small proof, side swept bangs or hair parted to the side. For long hair, twist hair into a half bun so that it is positioned over bun. For short hair, put hair simply into ponytail.
Clip the ends above the bun so that they fall over the bun. If you are having a ponytail, just flip it up and clip it. For clipping, you can use one large clip or multiple small clips. Use bobby pins to pin your hair under and into bun. Make sure, you pin all strands so that none will be left hanging out. If you have ponytail, just clip it against your head.
